Apollonia Kotero

Patricia Apollonia Kotero is an American actress singer and former model. Kotero is famous for her role as co-star in Prince's 1984 film Purple Rain and for having been the lead singer of the girl group Apollonia 6. Apollonia was a performer/singer born to Prince in 1984 became one of the many female singers of the 1980s who benefited from Prince. Born Patricia Kotero in Santa Monica California in 1959, her professional career began as a model actress towards the end of the 1970s including an appearance on the TV show CHiPS. In 1984, the actress was cast as the leading lady in Prince's Purple Rain. (During this period of time, he changed her name.) Her replacement was Vanity as a member of the female trio Vanity 6 who performed in the movie with Apollonia 6 under their name. Sex Shooter was not a huge success for the trio, however she made a greater impact as Prince's duet partner with Take Me with You on the soundtrack. Kotero broke up with Prince when they fell out over the future of Apollonia 6. Following her appearance in minor movies (and as of the reports, refusing to take part on her role in the Purple Rain film Under the Cherry Moon) her name was mentioned and she was cast in the 1985-1986 evening drama Falcon Crest. Apollonia finally released her debut album in 1988. However, the fairly pedestrian set of dance and R&B songs did not impress people who buy music and the album soon vanished off the shelves. Apollonia was active, even if she wasn't in the spotlight as an actor during the decade following with small film and television roles. An exercise DVD came out. Apollonia recorded a Spanish/English Album called Stay with Me in 1997. Later, she returned to school and earned an education in filmmaking. Then, she started her own production company. Apollonia holds a number of jobs. She's worked as a model, singer-actress as well as a talent manager. She is most famous as an actress for her part in the film Purple Rain from 1984. Other films and shows that she appeared in include Black Magic Woman and The Divorce Ceremony. Kotero debuted her career as a model. Kotero participated in several pageants. She has also appeared as models in music videos of stars like Ray Parker Jr. Kotero Multi-media Entertainment, a multimedia entertainment company established by Kotero Entertainment the founder and entrepreneur is also a successful businesswoman.
